I noticed we don't have an official introduction area. Introductions are a good way to learn about the community, to meet people, to network and to understand why we are all here. We get to know each others experience levels and to share interesting stories.

I'll go first in the next post.
  2.
My name is Taylor Sherman, some of you may have seen my YouTube videos by the name "Pokerwithoutcards."

I've been a hypnotist for over 6 years now, and I've learned a lot and met many amazing people. As one of the community mentors here on the IATH, I want to help each and every one of you.

My areas of specialty include instant inductions, language patterns, NLP, street hypnosis, and a variety of other topics that can be found in my seminars, workshops, and teleconferences.

For credentials, I am a Certified Hypnotist through multiple organizations, as well as a Certified Membership Instructor for the Society of Experiential Trance (SET). I have had experience in running a successful private practice, and have spent many hours developing custom-tailored programs for my clients.

I've also done thousands of "cold" street walk-ups, and have shared the skills I've learned that have resulted in entire courses on body language and social dynamics. I've had a LOT of fun :)

I run the TrancedOUT web network (http://www.trancedout.com), and I am good friends with another community mentor, Josh Houghton. As Josh will tell you, we are excited and energized to be a part of such an amazing group of people.

I'd would like to extend a special thanks to Nathan Thomas, and Leo Gopal, for putting all of their energy into this project. Also I'd like to thank Richard Nongard for his part in the development of offering certification courses for teenagers.

Please feel free to send me messages with any questions you might have about hypnosis. As community mentors, we are here to help you grow, and we want to see you succeed.

    Warmly,

    Taylor Sherman

    I suppose I'll go Next,

I'm a 17 year old hypnotist, uncertified, not that it maters too much other than for legal issues.

I started a year ago with some videos on youtube, which had some success (more than i expected at least) and am currently working on newer, more complicated ideas for demonstrations and videos.

You may have seen a few of my videos, i might post them from time to time here as reference material, I've done a little of everything, definatly learned my share of what to do and what not to do.

Looking forward to sharing what i know and maybe learning a bit in the process
  3.
I posted my own thread before this official one, but I may as well repeat myself here for reference.

I'm Samuel Putnam (Sam) from Chicago, Illinois, USA. I started hypnosis about 3 months ago and am starting to get some success, though I haven't had as much practice as I'd like. I'm 16 years old, and am looking forward to learning anything I can here, and also have a bit to share in terms of things I've read, heard, and critically considered. I'm currently experimenting with conversational / covert hypnosis due to the lack of consenting people for a real induction (I have no friends... just kidding.)

Best of luck to you all,

    Sam

    Hi Sam
i responded to your last thread, but heres a little tip which will also be covered in future lessons...
use covert hypnosis to help people see the value in being hypnotized by you... just a thought :D

    Now Lateralus...
    first, welcome to the IATH!
The fact that you actually do what you learn means you are already better than most of the hypnotists out there, so congrats.
feel free to start a thread and post your videos and we'll be happy to give you some helpful feedback.
once again, welcome, and i can't wait to see how much more you learn grow as a hypnotist here at the IATH, remember ask questions and keep us posted on your progress
    Thanks again
    Nathan

    Hey Everyone,

Thanks for starting this thread Taylor as its a great way to learn more about the different members of this great community. So I guess I'm next in line for a official introduction.

My name is Joshua Houghton and I'm a 26 year old Certified Hypnotist and Consultant based out of Columbus, Georgia. I have been interested in hypnosis since the age of 16, but really got serious about hypnosis within the last 5 years. Ever since than I have been a hypnosis machine learning and gathering all the knowledge I could about hypnosis and fields related to it.

I currently own and operate Southern Hypnosis & Consulting which is my full time hypnosis practice. When I'm not working with clients I'm usually working on my free hypnosis information and article blog whatsonmybrain.com or guest writing for other sites such as The Transparent Hypnotist and Trancedout.com

Currently I'm a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, The International Association of Hypnotists and I'm also currently working on my certification with the ICBCH. Beside all of that I'm also a community mentor with this organization. I know, how do I get anything done? I also conduct workshops, seminars and working on creating training material for hypnotists when time permits with my good friend Taylor Sherman, who is also a community mentor with this organization as well. I also enjoy getting out the house and performing street hypnosis when I can as I find this is a great way to build confidence.

My specialty is in the areas of instant inductions, regression to cause, language patterns, fear removal sports improvement and more. As my friend Taylor said I also want to extend a special thanks to Nathan Thomas, and Leo Gopal, for putting all of their energy into this organization. I know great things are ahead for the both of them. It's amazing it took this long for a organization like this to become reality. My hat off to both of you.

As a community mentor I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability. I'll do my best to provide you with the answers and if I don't know it we'll find the answers together. So as you see I'm just a normal 26 year old who LOVES hypnosis. I'm so glad this organization has been created as I wish a resource like this would have existed when I was a teenage Hypnotist.

    Success to All,

    ~Joshua Houghton
    Community Mentor

    Hey all :)

IBDoyle AKA Posiedon from Uncommon Forum.

Pretty experienced, haven't done much in a month or so though as I've sort of hit a block :O Which is one of the things I hope to break through using this site.

I'm more than happy to help anyone, equally more than happy to be helped.

    Regards,

    IBDoyle

    Hello,

I'm Daniela and I've tried hypnosis many times but I've never actually studied the facts behind it. I'd love to do that, as well as learn more about induction and the "trance" state. I hope to learn more...but I have a very busy schedule.
