Ok if you guys remember i posted here a few times probably 8 months ago
well i moved to a rural area and don't have much access to the internet, but before that happened I began reading about Speed Seduction (SS)
Using NLP to guide fantasy and emotions
it seemed like such a useful, practical, and fun hobby
well i'm not here to like rave about this because it's a heavily debated subject among all practitioners
i've just never seen it talked about here except once i read that someone mentioned The Game by Neil Strauss
now this bulletin is more targeted towards you Nathan because i know you're always studying hypnosis and NLP. so because i saw it hadn't been mentioned i was wondering if you had ever come across Ross Jeffries? I'm sure you have but i was just wondering
    anyone feel free to comment
if you find my bulletin inappropriate for some reason feel free to delete

    Hey
I've certainly heard of Ross Jeffries - he is very well known, and very good at what he does.

A few of the hypnotists I network with know him personally, and most tell me he's a creep, lol, but that's just their opinion.

I've never really be interested in his methods personally, mainly because I think he misses the whole point of hypnosis and NLP and instead (in his public persona at least) embraces a very shallow and superficial perspective on NLP and people in general.

The funny thing is, if you're interested I would actually encourage you to study Jeffries' work. There is certainly a lot we can learn from him, provided we remember the mandatory pinch of salt and add a healthy dose of morality and common decency.

Good thread TreyHudsen, thanks for bringing this up, and I look forward to hearing many more opinions.

    Cheers
    Nathan Thomas

    PS
For anyone confused, a quick google search should turn up all you need to know.

The first thing that popped up was 'Ross Jeffries, the official home of speed seduction'
Seduction - it works only if the subject is willing to be seduced in the first place, the same thing with hypnosis/trance. Or well, a hypnotist could make the subject want something like that too.

Reminds me of when a very intelligent hypnotist told me that the way I talk is very similar to PUA language :D

    Cheers,

Theo, i have to disagree with some of this. Now, I am familiar with Jeffries work and must acknowledge that he has some very interesting notions. I tend to dislike his intentions, but his techniques are quite good The fact is, though, one can get results with such techniques that go beyond the limits you seem to place on this. One can argue that all women desire to be taken into the emotional space Jeffries creates, in essence that the want to be "seduced" is universal, it's just a question of whether one is capable of doing so in a way that matches her expectations and desires.

We do all have such desires, of course, and with each of us, there are processes that exist within our mind that will lead to the states connected with living out those fantasies. To offer a metaphor, suppose I am attempting to get you to eat a cookie. Now, if you are on a diet or such, you likely would naturally decline that cookie, but if I am able to engage your imagination in a way that ignites your desire to have the cookie, it would be much more likely that you would give in and eat the cookie, of course. Now, you might say that I can only do this because I am utilizing a desire that already existed, but those desires are univerally present. It is a question of connecting that desire to a specific stimulus, in this case a cookie.

In the same way, with seduction, the goal is to take naturally existing desires, for love, sex, and so on, and connect them (ie anchor) to a specific stimulus, in this case yourself as the seducer. I am not particularly fond of Jeffries approach and attitude, but his techniques do have a solid base. At the same time, those who learn from him tend to have a very narrow perspective, and so I would tend to suggest that his material be left until one has a firm base in other perspectives on hypnosis and NLP, or at the very least be looked at while also reading and studying other materials. I do not say this to dissuade from learning conversational or covert methodologies, indeed those happen to be areas that I specialize in, but because Jeffries offers an extremely narrow pwerspective on the uses and capabilities of these skills. But he is worth discussing, though I might suggest we keep from some of the more licentious specifics,
